In order to keep your shoes looking and feeling like new for years to come, we’d like to pass on some life-lengthening tips including how to clean your leather, canvas, sneakers, casual, and dress shoes.
To clean smooth leather shoes and leather dress shoes, you’ll need Cole Haan Shoe Cream, a buffing brush, Cole Haan Leather Conditioner, a clean cotton cloth, and a polish dauber brush.
Tips for Keeping Shoes Clean
New dress shoes can be treated before being worn to protect the leather and make it easier to shine later on. Never use liquid polish, which causes leather to dry or crack.
Give shoes a day off between wearing. For men’s dress shoes, use Cole Haan’s Natural Cedar Shoe Tree to draw moisture from the leather and to help maintain its shape.
Wet footwear should be shaped with Cole Haan Natural Cedar Shoe Trees and allowed to dry at room temperature. Heat may dry leather and cause cracking.
Always polish with a soft cloth using circular strokes. Brush with a Cole Haan Shoe Brush, then use a soft cloth for added luster.
To clean water and salt stains from finished leathers, use Cole Haan Leather Conditioner. Wipe clean and dry.
